Dreading the gym for the next 3 months! |
A resolution? I already have so many goals to achieve. I'm working toward most of them, and others I do not have time to do or cannot afford yet. I have resolutions happening all throughout the year, not just starting on January 1st. When I get a desire to be or do something, I start working on that goal right away, even if it's just writing it down and thinking about it. Getting some insight from a friend or family member can be motivation to add goals, start and/or reach them.
However, since all of the hype right now is about a resolution for the new year, this could be a good time to start getting strict about something particular I want to do. A new year's resolution is not limited to getting fit, losing weight or stopping a habit. It's also an opportunity to add something good to life, whether it is learning a new language, dance or computer application. I could work on my dental health better, or learn about wine. Work or career goals are also important and hard work is recognized.
I'd like to be stress free for 2012. I know this is impossible, but there are ways to help. Meditation would be great to learn, so I can revert back to that worry-free state at any time. I love getting organized because the feeling after it is relaxing. I clean my room or pay a bill, and a huge weight is lifted off of me. :D! With a handful of steps per day, I'll have fewer things to worry about. So my resolution will be a slew of different goals. Starting small, I'll write a list, my favorite thing to do! The list will include projects to organize, for example: my closet and dresser. I'll go down the list and tackle these one at a time. I'm all about trashing or giving away things I do not want anymore. It will eliminate the clutter in the house and on my mind. Then I'll start researching for a meditation class that is convenient for me. Reading time will also be penciled in. I have so many books in queue to read. Reading relaxes me and often puts me to sleep!
Finding something that is fun to do and actually achievable will help keep the resolutions. I may be an oddball for enjoying to clean, but it makes me feel great, especially afterwards! To prevent resolutions from dying out after a month or two, I will schedule tasks and keep a logbook. This is where progress can be tracked every week and celebrations commence with every small milestone.
This time of the year, I feel sadness. Is it because I have nothing to celebrate from the past year? Or nothing to look forward to in the year ahead? It's neither, and I am stumped year after year when this feeling hits. Looking for things to make me happy is first on my list, so my resolutions are set to make me happier.
It's frustrating not finding a free treadmill at the gym this time of year. I will try to fit in the gym somehow in all of the rush, but there are many other things that can make you feel great on a daily basis. Happy New Year!

I shall try to help in this by being happier this year, and not writing so many depressing letters!
