Bean or Beanery? I incorporated this nickname of mine into my blog and made peace with it. Is it because I look like a jelly bean? Or smell like a coffee bean? Am I green like green beans? 'Jelly' from 'jelly bean' can be switched with Jennie easily, and I think that is the root of where this name came from. I do not even like jelly beans because I get sick from eating more than two. Whelp, out of the three, I like green beans the best.
The bf has called me this, and unknowingly, I have accepted it for a long time. After looking up 'beanery' in the dictionary, I have wondered if I am what it really means. Of course I am not that cheap restaurant down the street, but am I inferior? Some things I say, think, or do sure feels like it, but even unrelated thoughts can be worth a listen. Life is all about the right timing and feeling comfortable in your own skin. If you start comparing yourself to others or things, it will drive you nuts! I ask myself what do I want to be and strive to be that. No matter what you are called, you will still be you, so embrace it!
Nicknames can sound silly, especially made up out of the blue. I would have never agreed to answer to bean, but do so daily. I think I surrendered because of my love of food. I thought of calling the bf 'snarfy' or something else weird, but then thought better of it. When someone calls you a name constantly, it becomes a part of you. A name is just a name, and the meaning can be forgotten and unnecessary. I looked at my work lunch container today, and it has an engraved "B" on it. For 'Bean'? Coincidence? The company and who designed it does not begin with a B, but it may stand for breakfast. Who knows!
The bf didn't hesitate to post my URL on his blog, so here I am returning the favor :D
